Another first for the Club !

As a FA Chartered Standard Community Club, it is with great pleasure to announce that Rev Gareth Higgs has been appointed as Chaplin to Pendle Forest Sports Club.

Gareth has been in the Circuit from September 2006 and is currently the Minister of Wheatley Lane Methodist Church in Fence whilst also looking after Brierfield Methodist Church.

Gareth is married to Laura, a former student at UCLAN in Preston where she studied Deaf Studies and Education. Both Gareth and Laura grew up in Bath where they met in a church youth group. After leaving school, Gareth worked with a Methodist Church in Mansfield, first of all as a youth worker then as a community worker. He studied for two years full-time at Wesley College in Bristol and for the last few years, studied part-time while acting as the Minister of St John’s Northgate Methodist Church in Gloucester.

Gareth is a passionate football fan, and despite being hundreds of miles away from his beloved Bath City FC, he still keeps in touch with local football and has been at regular spectator at the games played at Old Laund Booth.
